The flagship smartphone of the Finnish mobile giant, Nokia, the N8 was the first smartphone to run on Symbian^3 mobile operating system. Launched in 2010, it broke company record for having the most pre-orders, with sales of as many as 4 million units during the first three months upon its release.

When it was introduced in the market, Filipinos were definitely impressed with its classy and sleek design. The Nokia N8 features a 3.5 inch AMOLED capacitive multipoint touch display with Brightness Control, Low Power Mode, Low Power Mode and Orientation Sensor. It comes with several sensors including Magnetometer, Ambient Light Sensor, Accelerometer and Proximity Sensor. The resolution is 640 X 360 pixels.

It runs on Nokia Belle Symbian OS and powered 680MHz single core processor with 256MB RAM and 16GB mass memory expandable up to 32GB via micro SCD card slot. Synchronize data via Exchange ActiveSync, Remote SyncML, Local SyncML and iSync. Email and messaging is accomplished via several email solutions including Nokia, Hotmail and Yahoo Mail. You can view and edit email attachments as well.

Pros

The Nokia N8 offers plenty of reason for you to buy it. It has great camera, clear screen, superb battery life and decent audio output. Plus, you cannot ignore the fact that it comes with a stylish aluminium casing.

Cons

Some users were not impressed with the average quality virtual keyboards and poor social network configuration. There was also some confusion in the connection management and internet experience was a tad unimpressive.

Recommendation

During its launch, the Nokia N8 became the company’s best phone, thanks to industry leading functionality. It is a good smartphone and reasonably priced at that if you do not have the budget for the high end ones.
